English Grammar

Parts of speech, tense, agreement, voice, narration, conditionals and sentence correction. This is the most rule-bound — and therefore most scorable — part of the English paper.

    In indirect speech the first-person pronoun changes to match the reporting subject ('I' → 'he'), and the present continuous shifts back to past continuous ('am going' → 'was going'). 'Told' would need an object, e.g. 'told me'.
